Death is a very scary thing for me. I watched my two grandparents die just a year apart from each other. In the movie Tuesdays with Morrie, he is not scared to die, he is ready for death. One reason why people can be scared for death is that they do not want to leave their family, friends, and like behind. No one wants to leave their love ones and miss out on their families life. Also, we worked so hard to get where we are in are life we do not want it to end. I do not want to die. I understand i can not control that but i wish that i could just live my life with my friends and family and be happy. I hope that when i do get sick or old i am ready for death just like Morrie was.
Morrie said that he wasn't afraid of death because it was innevitable. He realizes that he has lived a great life and knows that it is his time to go. Knowing that and knowing how many lives he has influnced as a teacher has prepared him for what will eventually happen.
ReplyDeleteI like your ideas. I am not sure that Morrie was ready to die yet though. Of course the disease will kill him, but without it he could have probably lived a nice life for a while more. I agree that it's much better to die when we are ready (older) than when we get sick and could have lived longer (cancer, heart disease, etc)
ReplyDeletei agree that death is a scary thing. No one wants to die but everyone will. Why is death such a bad thing? If someone has lived a long, happy life then they should accept it. We have been taught these days that young is good and old is bad. It is weird because in a lot of other places, being old gives you more respect, wisdom, and authority. Our society values youth.
ReplyDeletedeath is really hard but we have to learn to deal with it. losing someone makes us realize how much we really loved them.
ReplyDeleteI agree that death is really scary because it is something we don't know about and we can't control. However, I think we should focus more on living each day than death and the unknown.

ReplyDeleteDeath is scary, but i believe we need to be able to accept it in order to live to the fullest everyday.
